New Year's Day Lobby Event / January 1, 2026
Everyone is welcome to join a vibrant and auspicious performance of DAIKAGURA, a traditional Japanese acrobatic art using umbrellas and balls, along with the powerful dance of the Shishimai (lion dance),
wishing happiness in the coming year and wards off evil spirits.
First Performance
Lion Dance I 10:30 am (approximately 10 minutes)
Daikagura / 10:40 am (approximately 20 minutes)
Second Performance
Lion Dance I 1:30 pm (approximately 10 minutes)
Daikagura / 1:40 pm (approximately 20 minutes)
Whiie you are enjoying breakfast and lunch,the lion dance troupe will parade through the restaurant.

Together with your regular buffet menus, you can try out osechi-ryori Japanese traditional New Year's dishes, sashimi, with complimentary servings of Japanese sake and sparkling wine only available at New Year’s.

Each dish has a special meaning to wish good health and longevity, and bring happiness throughout the year.
| KUROMAME (Sweet black beans) |
Eating black beans is said to ward off evil spirits, and wishes one can work hard throughout the year as to get a good black tan like the beans. |

| KAMABOKO (Fish cake) |
Comes in 2 colors, red (pink) and white, which symbolizes festivity in Japan. The color red acts as an amulet, white as purification. Often skillfully carved in auspicious motifs like cranes and pines. |
| DATEMAKI (Sweet rolled omelet) |
The rolled shape resembling a handscroll signifies wishes to increase one's knowledge. |
| KINTON (Mashed sweet potato with sweet chestnut) |
"Kinton" is said to bring money luck, since it includes a letter which means "gold" when written in Kanji, Chinese characters. |
| EBITSUYANI (Glazed shrimp) |
When boiled, shrimp bend their backs just like the elderly, embedding wishes for longevity. |
| KOBUMAKI (Rolled Konbu seaweed with salmon or herring) |
Since "Kobu" is part of the word "Yoro-kobu" meaning happiness in Japanese, Kobu seaweed is often eaten as auspicious food. |
| TAKO NO NIMONO (Simmered octopus) |
TAKO (Octopus) is sometimes written in Kanji, Chinese characters, as "TA=many and KO=happiness" and having 8 legs which can spread like an open fan, also includes a meaning for ever-expanding fortune. |
| SASHIMI | MAGURO (Tuna fish) is said to bring happiness since ancient times. |
| KOUNAGO KURUMI (Candied sand eel and walnut) |
The hard shell of the walnut representing wishes for familly harmony. |
| MATSUMAEZUKE (Dried squid, fish roe and seaweed marinated with spicy soysauce) |
Traditionally eaten to wish for descendant prosperity, from the huge number fish roe comes in. |
| KATSUO TAKENOKO (Simmered bamboo shoots with bonito flakes) |
Bamboo shoots grow very fast, and is often eaten to wish for career advancement. |
| OZOUNI (Rice cake in soup) |
Eating OZOUNI has a thanks giving meaning for the harvest and safety from the year before, and wishing for good harvest and family safety for the new year. |
